Honoree Sue Zuckerman, Feder Family Director of Upper School Educational Support Services, walks back to her seat after receiving flowers and a drawing given to her by her former student Jordan Levin (‘85). She is being honored for her more than 40 years of work at JDS and for inspiring students through her work in founding The Lion’s Tale and in Educational Support Services. “It is really a great, great honor, particularly since I shared it with Rachelle Sobel, whom I admire tremendously, and Abbey Frank, who I’ve known forever and to be part of that makes me feel very good,” Zuckerman said.
Over 530 JDS alumni, students, faculty and families came to the Upper School on March 22 to celebrate the second Legends From the Lion’s Den event. The day recognized Abbey Frank ‘89, Sue Zuckerman and Rochelle Sobel, members of the JDS community who have made a “legendary” impact on the community. The event provided time for alumni from all backgrounds to socialize and reconnect while eating food and walking around the school.
To kick off the event, Strutman Lane, a band composed of four JDS alumni, perform. They play in the background as community members reconnected amidst a joyful atmosphere. The room fills with chatter as people find their seats while also listening to the music.
