I am so excited to continue my work as a reporter on Lion’s Tale. I love writing articles and the freedom of the press. In addition to Lion’s Tale, I am co-president of the mega-successful Current Events Club and treasurer of Vocab Club. I can’t wait to write great articles this year.

Varsity boys soccer win thrilling quarterfinals match, but lose in semis

Senior and captain Todd Lazoff shoots the team's only free-kick opportunity all game. Lazoff played relentlessly on both sides of the field without taking a break. “After playing for 80 minutes and having so many close chances to score, losing really wasn’t an option for me or the team,” Lazoff said.

Senior Gaby Goldberg makes a difficult push upfield against three defenders. After Topolosky’s injury, Senior Ari Werbin suffered a dislocated shoulder, forcing normal defenders such as Goldberg to adapt to offensive positions.

Senior Itai Topolosky fights for the ball with a defender. Topolosky went down with a concussion right before the half, but continued to support the team on the sideline.

Sophomore Eitan Rattner deflects the ball away from the opposing team’s striker. While the Lions continued to struggle on offense, their defense remained stellar throughout the game.

Freshman Zoya Wexler beats his defender up the field in an attempt to create an open shot. The Lions initially struggled to maintain possession of the ball long enough to get an open look, ultimately forcing the game to extra time.
