Summer break is merely a few weeks away, meaning many are anticipating their summer travel plans or going to summer camp. Between summer activities, it is always fun to get out of the house to do something special and unforgettable, such as seeing a concert.
Fortunately, this summer, many popular artists are visiting the Maryland and Washington D.C. area on tour. Whether someone has heard of these artists from social media or if they just love their music, going to their concert is a great opportunity to experience live music this summer.
On June 18, Northwest Stadium, the stadium of the Washington Commanders in Summerfield, MD, will host popular artists SZA and Kendrick Lamar for their highly anticipated “Grand National Tour”.
This tour began in April and has been blowing up, especially since the two artists performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. During the tour, fans are expected to hear a mix of collaborations between the two artists, such as “All the Stars,” “30 for 30” and “Luther,” as well as a handful of each of their individual songs. Tickets are being sold on Ticketmaster from $280-1,300. For anyone who enjoyed the halftime show, this concert is highly recommend.
Tate McRae’s “Miss Possessive Tour” is coming to Baltimore on Aug. 31. McRae has become popular on social media platforms for the past few years with her tremendous pop hits such as “Greedy” and “Exes” from her album “Think Later”.
This past February, McRae released her most recent album, “So Close to What,” which many fans are excited to see live. The “Miss Possessive Tour” started on March 18 and is scheduled to conclude on November 8. Currently, tickets are still being sold for the concert on Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, StubHub and more ticket sellers.
Because of the success of McRae’s past performances, tickets are being sold from $150-1,829. McRae’s hits are heard by many on TikTok and to hear more of that, I recommend going to see her this summer.
Popular singer-songwriter Beyoncé is returning to the stage this summer with two shows at Northwest Stadium on July 4 and 7. Her tour “Cowboy Carter,” which started April 28, will be her first tour since October 2023. Many fans are excited to see her new album being performed live for the first time.
Known for her intricate choreography and full-out production, Beyoncé’s tours are not only a concert, but an experience. For a truly memorable concert, I recommend going to see Beyoncé this summer.
After a six year break from going on tour, pop artist Katy Perry will be returning to the stage in Baltimore on Aug. 15. Perry’s newest album, “143,” was released on Sept. 20. Many friends and I have grown up listening to Perry’s popular hits like “Firework”, “Last Friday Night” and “California Girls”. I highly recommend going to Perry’s concert for a walk down memory lane.
Each of these concerts is definitely on the more expensive side, with prices from $100-2,000 per ticket, but are subject to change closer to performance date. Despite the high expense of attending these concerts, I highly recommend considering attending one this summer, as it will bring an unforgettable experience.
