On Wednesday, the varsity softball team beat the undefeated McLean Mustangs in the semi-finals to advance into the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference (PVAC) championship game. After previously losing to the Mustangs by the mercy rule during the regular season, the Lions repaid the favor, beating them by the mercy rule in only five innings by a score of 16-6. Sophomore and catcher, Hannah Shank was overjoyed about the win. “It was such an exciting game and we played really well and beat the best team in the league,” she said. “We have such an amazing team and I cannot wait for championships.”
