Juniors Danielle Azachi and Jack Weitzner read the names of veterans from families in the CESJDS community. “I think Veterans Day is important because a lot of times we think about all the great stuff we have, but I really think the veterans are important …. We never really think about the American veterans and they are really a key part of our country,” Weitzner said. “Veterans day is an opportunity [to welcome family members to the school] because it is meaningful to be able to celebrate Veterans Day with the people in our families that were veterans, and they can talk about their experiences. It’s an extra generational thing to have the veterans in the school on Veterans Day.”
