Pumpkin spice-themed items return at Starbucks as the new season is ushered in.

As fall begins, one of the most popular trends of the year gets restocked at Starbucks. Pumpkin spice flavored items are among the most delightful foods of the new season. Realistically, what screams fall spirit more than a pumpkin-flavored drink?

The world is divided into two types of people: those who despise anything pumpkin-flavored, and those who eagerly await fall for the return of all things pumpkin. Pumpkin-flavored lattes and foods are strongly disliked amongst the people, or people or are just waiting for this flavor to come back onto the Starbucks menu. I have never been the person to wait for pumpkin spice lattes to return to the Starbucks menu in the fall, but I wanted to try a few of the pumpkin-flavored items to see if they could actually make the flavor of fall come alive.

I tried two pumpkin-flavored drinks and two foods on the Starbucks menu: the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin scone, iced pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin cream cheese muffin. To my pleasant surprise, Starbucks did a pretty great job hitting the flavor of fall in almost all of these items.

The iced pumpkin spice latte didn’t really have any pumpkin flavor, but rather had a surprising amount of cinnamon on top of the drink. Unfortunately, the drink itself just tasted like a normal latte, with a lot of cinnamon.

The hot pumpkin spice latte had a strong pumpkin and cinnamon scent. This drink strongly presented the essence of fall. The drink was warm and gave a comforting feeling, and it really did taste like pumpkin, which is a flavor that did not come across at all in the iced version. Even if you are not a huge pumpkin enthusiast, I really think you would enjoy this drink.

Although I was not too happy with the turn out of the drinks, I was pleasantly surprised by the two snacks I ordered because they carried a nice pumpkin flavor. The pumpkin cream cheese muffin doesn’t look too appetizing, but it tasted delicious and wasn’t just flavored with cinnamon: it tasted like pumpkin. The pumpkin scone was glazed over with a vanilla frosting that actually added a lot to the flavor of the scone itself; although the scone tasted similar to the muffin, I enjoyed it a lot more since it had a cakier texture.

After trying a few pumpkin flavored items off of the Starbucks menu, I feel that I am now in the fall spirit. If you need to get yourself in the fall mood, indulge in these Starbucks items.
